Junior high school students are thrust into the traditional 7 subjects per day class scheduling from their single teacher elemenatry school environment. This is unnecessary and provides little time for a teacher to really teach. Look at extending the block scheduling of classes to junior highs. This smooths the transition to high school and college and decreases the hectic nature of trying to fit 7 or 8 classes into a single day.

I know this is going to be controversial, but why does Garfield county need so many school districts? Now think about this for a second. I am not thinking about actual school (as in building) consolidation. Just consolidate the administration part. The superintendents job would be the same, just for many more students! The curriculum person would still have the same curriculum for elementary, it would just be fore more students.

If we saved the salary of the Enid, Chisholm, Waukomis, and Cimmaron Superintendents, (Keeping the salary of say the Pioneer Super) think how much money we could put back into the classroom. Now think about consolidation of the payroll, accounts payable departments, etc.

Please understand that I am NOT talking about busing kids away from their existing schools or communities.
